blackbear Oct 26, 2003, 04:47 PM Can someone please explain what DVD retail 1-1 copy screener etc means. copyright Oct 26, 2003, 05:06 PM It doesn't have anything to do with a DVD's spec. It means that the movie you are downloading/attempting to/or already downloaded has been copyed (cloned) from its retail counter part. As my saying goes, it is kinda silly for people with limited knowledge like you, and already atempting to pirate... If you don't know what you are doing, then just dont do it. It can be compared to you stealing something, and then asking what it is. ElaineM Oct 26, 2003, 10:44 PM I'm going to move this to the DVD forum. jesterrace777 Oct 27, 2003, 02:42 AM Screeners are DVD Quality movies that are released about 4-5 months before they come out on the shelves. They are released to videostore Managers/Employees so they can sample a film before it comes out for rent. They are just the movie though (no chapters, menus, special features, ect.) However they do have writing on them that says "This is a DVD Screener which is property of. . . . " displayed on the screen the whole time. blackbear Oct 27, 2003, 03:10 AM People with limited knowledge have got to start somewhere! I would have thought that this is one of the reasons that this forum is here. As for downloading films, well that wold take me for ever(dont have broadband) It is just that you see dvds that people want stating that it is retail or 1-1 copy. A simple explanation would be suffice. Thanks Jesterace 777 aaronjon Oct 27, 2003, 09:19 AM just to add to jesterace`s explanation, screeners are also sent out of unreleased movies, (not yet in cinemas) to movie critics, ie. acadamy award voters, etc. nightheart Oct 27, 2003, 11:20 AM Also sent out to some US navy servicemen when their abroad. A M8's brother is in and he's sees all the latest stuff before it's in theaters!!! |
