I have had really good results on +R media and I recently read comments made the CEO of Benq about how +R is going to take over the world yet everyone persists on telling me that -R is better...

Why? Especially as it works at 8x now and -R doesn't...

Speed ain't everything, besides 8X -R is coming, although it is only Z-CLV same as +R.

I would suggest that you checkout this (http://www.cdrom-guide.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=235552) thread.

I prefer -R due to it's more universal compatibility on older DVD Players and all versions of PS2s.

i prefer -R simply because it is proven to be more compatable.

If the CEO of Benq thinks this is similar to VHS vs Beta then he/she is sadly mistaken. Most players can now read both formats. There are more and more dual format writers. Write speed on both are improving. They are multiple companies supporting both formats. And I assume they cost about the same to produce. So I don't really see any reason why one format would become dominant over the other.

We have all read/reported media issues on cheap -R because -R is the more popular format and so some manufacturers are trying to cash in. Other than someone pulling off a marketing marvel I really can't see one format knocking the other out.

Oh, and my 105 only supports -R so I will be only using -R until the writer dies - knock on wood.
