Hi just wondering if anyone else is having probs writing at 4 speed with 105 mines will write a disc at 4x no prob but then when its done and i do another copy it wont write at 4x at all then it locks up and i have to switch pc of to get disc out this is happening nearly every 2nd disc now but if u put the disc back in and set speed to 2x it will write no prob.my m8 is having the same prob to im using datawrite 4x yellow ,ive had burner for just about a year and is only starting to do this now any help on this subject would be greatly appreciated as i dont know if its a sign telling me its on its way out .........seems to just write at 4 x when it feels like it this bombs by the way when trying to right lead in and im using dvd decrpyter and prassi :idea:

Try a different disk, like a Ritek.

Quality of Datawrites has gone right out the window of late.

cheers for the reply m8 but just been on another forum and seems alot of ppl got the same probs and when it happens its knackered

It could be knackered, but it's still worth trying different media, especially as it happens at the lead-in.

It's sometimes the case with Datawrites that you get a mix of good & bad disks in a spindle .... i.e. one works, one dont.
Like I said, Datasafe's quality is all over the place lately. If you grab a pack of Riteks .... then at least you can rule out media as the problem, plus they are much better for reliability & compatibility anyway.

I use nothing but Riteks these days and never hit problems, but I can bet that when I buy something in and it comes on Princo (Datasafe) crap, it wont play or wont copy. For the few pennies saved, it just aint worth all the hassle. ;)
