Greetings all. I have a nice new PC with DVD. I like to watch DVDs from all over the world and up until yesterday my PC was giving me the option to select the region code for each.

Now it has told me that this is the last time I can do it and so all my foreign disks (my beloved kung fu collection) cannot be played.....

Is this just a piracy/protection thing and is there a way to reactivate the thing???

depends on what your player is try www.rpc1.org- there may be a firmware hack for the drive- but you do it at your own risk, blah blah blah

use device manager to find out your make of dvd-rom drive

You can only change the region on a dvd-rom drive about 5 times, then it locks, just get DVD Region Free, it lets you play dvds from any region without you having to change your firmware.
