I tried to backup Halo using (registered) CloneCD 4.2.0.2 which is the last version as far as I know. Since the CD has to be present to play, I wanted a backup to keep the original safe, but the game does not recognize the backup and refuses to start. Has anyone had any success making a backup with CloneCD. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

1) Not latest version. The latest is 4.3.1.6 which has been updated to better support SafeDisc v2.9.x which I believe is the protection used on Halo.
2) This belongs in LGB where I am now moving it.

If you are looking for the update, don't bother checking the elby site, they sold CloneCD to SlySoft some time ago and this is where you will find the update as well as future updates.

ive copied halo for my friend. i downloaded the bin and cue off someone, but i used Nero to burn it. burned 100% fine. Or you could use the copy u already made, install it, but instead of usin the cd to play (and gettin that error) go onto gamecopyworld.com and get a no cd patch. It works, ive done it

I just got a new Plextor PX-708A b/c I was told it worked with CloneCD. First backup attempt was with HALO, and it was unsuccesful. The disk is not recongnized when attempting to play. After I installed CloneCD, it stated that it was not compatible with the new Plextor drive.

"Compatible with CloneCD RAW-SAO: No"

I am using v.4.0.1.9 so I will have to check for an update with SlySoft? If anyone has had successful backups with CloneCD and the Plextor, please let me know.

I will report back after the update.
