hi. ive had my plextor 24-/10/40 for about 2 years now. its just started to go wrong. I start to burn a CD (data and audio) and it gets about 2% done before it says 'Power Calibration Failed' and then the burn process fails :( anyone got ideas what this could be? is it the writer or the software? I use NERO 5.5.7.2
Any help appreciated
Matt :(

power calibration is usually media based - so try a different type - ive got 2 plextors and they r usually very picky and sometimes wont even write to media ive used for ages

So what, you've either ran into a bad batch or they have deteriorated.
The next most common thing is a dirty lens, although my money is on the first one unless your burner is dying.
