Okay,

so I tried just renaming a bios to xboxrom.bin and now I can't get the xbox to boot into any kind of dash board. I just get the 21 error code. It will still boot original games but I can't use the 007/MA hack because I can't get the save games onto the hard disk - is there anyway of running the hack off the memory card or can anyone think of a way of getting into a dash of some sort so I can ftp the old xrombin back in?

the bios isn't on the hard drive, you've renamed your dash sounds like. just make an evox boot disk, ftp in, and change it back.

Will a Evox boot disc "boot" in a no mod machine??

I'm using Pheonix Bios Loader so I was under the assumption the BIOS was loaded from the hard disk.

My X-Box won't load backups now, only originals.

you should have the savegame on your hard disk. that's the way that exploit works, loading the save from the hard drive creates a buffer overflow in the memory and allows you to load evox from the save game. which gives you ftp access to install phoenix. if you can load 007, just load the save from the hd again, and do the exploit over again. follow the guides to the letter or you'll have a nice paperweight on your hands. and by all means, the first time you have access to you box's hd, back it up!
