hi
i have just chiped my psx useing 4 wires and it plays ntsc games in black and white do i need to use the 7 wires for it to play in colour?

It sounds like you've got a PAL psx, you can download Import Player from www.megagames.com and that should solve your problems.

if you dont mind opening your psx again you can just cut one track and solder an extra wire in.
i'll see if i can dig up the link for your model psx

soz i can only find the diagrams for 7xxx 9xxx and psone models

as far as i know you can only do the wire-link with 7002, 7502, 9000 series playstations, i just brought an N-PAL converter which plays all imported game in colour without the need for a scart lead or an extra wire link.

try using a scart lead. this will probably cure the problem
