luciddreamster Nov 08, 2003, 11:40 PM for about a month or so, my xbox has been trippin. about 95% of the time i try to turn my xbox on this is what happens:
flashing green light
{{beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep}}
turns off
one second delay
flashing green light
{{beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep}}
turns off
one second delay
flashes red/green
sometimes i can "trick" it into opening the drive, but not usually. i just turn the power on and off, sometimes up to like 50 times, and eventually it works. sometimes it works on the first try, but rarely. when it does come on, everything works fine, and i can swap disks for the rest of the night w/ no problems. i know red/green means that it cannot find the bios. i've checked and there are no loose wires/solder points. what the heck can i do???
backup2k1 Nov 09, 2003, 01:50 AM hi m8 the only option could be that the modchip is faulty and you need to replace it
are you working off the dashboard hack by anychance
Game Master Nov 09, 2003, 06:03 PM sounds like a bad solder point. the on and off thing happened to me on my system and a few of my friends.. after opening it up it was one spot that although it was soldered, it was very loose. i nudged it and it popped right off....
freakit Nov 09, 2003, 10:25 PM what chip you using? check the ground for the D0. i had this happen on one xbox where the D0 wasn't grounded good enough.
handyguy Nov 10, 2003, 11:15 AM Actually, R&G in the xbox manual clearly states that happens when your a/v cable aint connected. Try it, disconnect your a/v cable & watch.
plexgod Nov 10, 2003, 12:49 PM Actually,
its orange and green that means the AV lead isn't connected, and with that it flashes constantly but doesnt turn off.
red and green with turn offs and beeps is usually a loose connection on one of the solder points.
sparkster766 Nov 10, 2003, 03:57 PM This sort of thing happened to mine, but that was a dodgy bios install. I needed to get a programmer and reload the chip.
Meerdorf Nov 10, 2003, 04:04 PM I have the same problem, I grin and bear it... It is a dodgy connection most likely from a NO SOLDER mod. Either open up and reallign it or keep on going. Mine does it 4 or 5 times and then works
luciddreamster Nov 11, 2003, 06:46 AM wow, all kinds of possibilities. well, I have an OLD chip and bios, one of the first homebrews (xios?) and I bought it pre-modded several years ago. i opened it up after it started doing this, but there were a whole bunch of wires glued and taped together and it just didn't look like something i wanted to mess with. i figured if i unplugged something by accident while messing around, it would be real hard to find an install diagram since it's so old. anyway, i was hoping for a quick fix. oh, well. fyi, it seems to help a little if i push the eject and power buttons at the same time, no idea why though.
handyguy Nov 11, 2003, 10:54 AM "wow, all kinds of possibilities. well, I have an OLD chip and bios, one of the first homebrews (xios?) and I bought it pre-modded several years ago"
I got that too. Did you check precisionmods.com & ask them if they can do anything for you?
jabalula Nov 13, 2003, 05:32 AM this happen to me and all i did was take out my matrix chip and reinstall it and that solve the problem.
MaK10 Nov 14, 2003, 01:09 PM yeah, red/green means bios problem.....which can be fixed by what people already stated..
1. re-align no solder mods
2. check all solder points
3. bad bios (but if you've never attempted to flash it, its prolly #1,2)
4. Or maybe the chip just went bad, since you said its old homebrew thing....
billyhoes Nov 15, 2003, 08:39 AM huh? handyguy aren't a mods no more, hahaha :Ds...
