Hi all.

Unusual one this but here goes.

I'm currently running CorelDraw 9 on Win2K. CorelDraw has a lot of custom options and these can be saved in a workspace folder for reinstallation after a reformat and reinstall of Windows. Naturally this saves a lot of work recustomising the workspace.

The problem is that CorelDraw 9's workspace folder system only works on Win 98, I'm told it also works on the original Win 2K but I'm running an SP2 version. I can actually delete my workspace folder and it has no effect.

OK this is the interesting/confusing bit.
If I uninstall CorelDraw, do a search and manually remove all Corel files and folders, followed by a registry clean of all Corel named items, when I reboot and reinstall CorelDraw, my custom settings are all retained.
Only a reformat and reinstall of Windows flushes them out.

Somewhere in Windows my CorelDraw settings are being saved and if I can find the file/folder, I should be able to save and use it to reinstall my custom settings after a reformat.
So, my question is this. Does anyone have any ideas about what and where that file/folder might be.

Any advice would be gratefully appreciated.

Sark

PS....I know this is not a problem with CorelDraw 10/11 but I don't want to upgrade, tried it and had too many problems.

I would suggest you change some settings & then search for files that have been modified since just before you made the change (hope that makes sense).

Hi

Thanks for replying but do you know of a method or software that could recognise changed files automatically.
This would be a nightmare to do manually.

Cheers

I'm not sure about Win2k as i haven't used it for some time - however with XP using the "search" tool in "My Computer" you can specify to look for files that were last modified (eg) yesterday.

Have a look under the search options of 2000 and see if it is there.

Great.

Yes, Win2K has a search options flyout that includes last modified (by date). Didn't notice this before.

Have been trying to pin the file down today and the program has been uninstalled and reinstalled thereby showing all files as modified. Will wait till tomorrow and try a search for files modified on the 12th, after applying some changes.

Thanks again
