I am experienced in making PS2 back-ups but my normal way of making copies isn't working for a few games.

Tony Hawk THUG doesnt load at all
True Crime- the activision logo appears then it says insert a PS2 disk on some redish screen I have never seen.
Nascar Thunder- the menu works but then when I go to load a race it doesn't work.
--Heard the new WWE game is hard to copy too

I have a V7 with a plug-in mod and a swap disk.
I normally use prassiPrimo DVD which works by making a GI. Since I really wanted true crime I used Prassi, after that didn't work I used Alcohol 120, then dvd decrypter. None of them work and I am wondering how to fix this. There was a similiar post about this and people just put how the game worked for them. I don't need success stories, I need help. I was thinking about using an ISO edit or something with decrypter but I don't know. Thanks for taking the time to read my post and hope you can be of help to me and others with this problem.

That is true. Does the mod method you are using boot DVD-R games? What DVD Writer are you using?

Same problem with THUG, blitz pro, and True Crime. All other dvd-r games work ok for me.

I'm thinking its some weird protection.

Neo 2.2 and DMC swap method on a v1. Don't have swap magic.

Others are having similar problems with these games and swap methods. Haven't seen any fixes yet.

I am using a dvd-r with an A04 burner. Another game thats not working is soul caliber 2. Besides the first post I made is programs that might write the dvd so it would work?

It could be the media. What brand are you using?

I got some from eBay but I am sure thats not the problem. I have like 15 games that work.

using swap magic 2
tried cd loader
just keep getting hangs on screen or yellow screns
tried riteks and tried differnet versions of cd loader and different burning programs

Having a recent problem with a few games also:

Nascar Thunder 2004 and Soul Caliber 2.

Both boot (usually) but freeze up during course of game or load.

Anything unusual about these? All other copies fine.

The games probably have the new "double protection" to stop people who use swap-methods from booting copies, doesn't stop a decent mod-chip though.

Some threads which may or may not provide a way for the swappers to get around this problem. Personally, if you can find a reliable fitter or have the soldering skills, get a mod-chip, much less hassles.
