When starting up it sometimes only gets to a black screen and other times gets to my desktop but freezes before completely loading. If I press the reset it normally loads up as usual. This happens virtually every time I go back to switch on. Help Pls ???

Check your RAM to make sure it is firmly seated. Flaky RAM seems to be the number one reason for Windows XP having problems with loading.

With just one stick of 128Mb I have no problems but it's slow so I sent for a fresh stick. The one that came is double sided and the one I took out is single( Does this matter ) When I went to boot up it came up-
Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt
Syst32\drivers\ntfs sys.
I've tried the original stick in both slots and I have no problem except for the speed.
