My Samsung Syncmaster 171s 17 inch monitor seems to take on a bluey green tint after being on for a while

this can happen with heat. feel if it is hot. basically the liquid crystals are like soapy bath water, although not affected by farting.

Have you tried farting on an lcd monitor?

My monitor is in a science lab, therefore it is now scientifically proven that farting on an lcd monitor does not affect the colour.

Anyway, You might want to try play around with the setting..ie tint, brightness, contrast..etc. Otherwise its probably on its way out. How old is it? On the back check the date it was manufactored, the warranty maybe still good, to find out, you can call and give them the serial number and they will tell you, I believe a warranty usaully is 3 years.

Its only 7 months old but bought from a computer fair.....have you ever tried taking anything back to one of them it's murder.
Not in a position where it's likely to get hot.
