i just found magic 4.1 on a site, says its NOT A CLONE.
ive just never heard of it before...anybody know if it is OK to use ??
Mainly says the difference is that 4.1 can work with v8 consoles and solves overheating problems.

Given Magic's history of chips so far I wouldn't bother. It's worth it to spend the extra for a Messiah 2 Pro or DMS3 which both have excellent track records.

4.1 is still new but there are certainly no shortage of complaints about the V3.1s. The problem is that it is almost impossible to tell wether or not you are getting a cheap clone (even though a number of sites claim that you are getting the real deal). Talk to Mr.Snatcher and how he can't play half of his games on his magic 3.1 modded PS2. His is one of many examples.

I have a magic 3.1 and have absolutely no complaints. I love the disable feature. I can go online and play Madden 2004 and DNAS can't do a darn thing. I'd recommend the magic 3.1. I don't know anything about a 4.1 though. I think they got a 3.6. Only difference between 3.1 and 3.6 is that the 3.6 has a lot less wires.

Actually, a Magic 4.1 is just a clone of a 3.1. It's nothing new. I would prefer a 3.1 over some clone, but try out the DUO also.

I have the 3.6 which is the 3.1 with a clip to install less wires. No complaints here. have not had anything not boot for me. works like a charm....
