I have two comps running through a router both on XP Pro. My comp was running NTFS and the other was on FAT32. i could easaly get the files from the fat comp to my comp, but not the other way, but i really didnt care as i didnt need to. Now i just formatted the FAT comp and changed it to NTFS, but i cant access 'program files.' Under C:\ I said share whole drive over network, and i can access the C:\ root, and My Documents, but not Program files or the Windows dir from my comp. Under sharing properties of program files it says "All the options on this tab are disabled because this folder is used by the OS" (same w/ win dir.) I did a quick look on google and found somthing about setting the NTFS permissions or something.
Could someone tell me how to make my entire C: drive avalible over the network?
TIA

Hi Kyle
I am guessing here but if you follow the instructions in this thread http://www.cdrom-guide.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=260942 you will get the security option tab and should be able to change the permissions.

Ok, I did that and I get the security tab. When i go to add a user access (my comp id b adding) under location the only computer listed is the one im using, not the other one, so i cant grant access. If i go under My network places>View all workgroup computers i can see both comps--and get to the root c:\ like before--but i still cannot get it to allow me into program files.
Any more info ne 1?

Hi Kyle
When you goto the security section of the folder click on add and type Everyone in the box.

Hi Kyle
Sory I had to cut my post short because of an emergency.
It may be more secure to have the same user name on both computers. We'll asume that the user name is kyle.
set up the accounts
remove the everyone account from the security tab and add kyle and click on check name. Don't worry that it comes up with the COMPUTERNAME//kyle it should still work.
