badsteve Nov 10, 2003, 08:31 AM I need to burn a website to CD. Is it possible? What are the steps? Many thanks. orcus Nov 10, 2003, 08:55 AM well I've made a local copy of parts of a site using getbot. Never tried it with a whole site but it should work fine. Then it would be just the case of burning the files to CD, nothing should be different there. IE used to have something about making an offline version so many links deep. I don't use it anymore so I don't know if it still does. Nor am I certain where it kept the files... badsteve Nov 10, 2003, 09:06 AM Thanks. But anyone know of a step by step method or guide? Harry O Nov 10, 2003, 12:17 PM Adobe Acrobat (the full version not just the reader) will do this easily but it costs big money. Sitesnagger will enable you to snag a site and then you can burn to disk after http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,4149,20161,00.asp As for step by step why not read the Help file that accompanies the software? Basically once a site is snagged just burn the contents to CD and then open the index.html or index.htm file or you can create a simple autorun file and have it point to the index.html file. |
