Hey guys
i know everyone says ritek is the best media in terms of quality and pricing but i wanted to actually get a ranking on quality of dvd-r's.

If you guys could rank media like taiyoyuden, ritek, verbatim, princo and any others you can think of, i'd appreciate it.

Thanks guys.

BTW: i'm using it mainly for my V4 PS2

Well if it is for PS2 then that should be quite simple.

The darker the dye the better. So Ritek, Ritek & Ritek would be my vote for a top 3 there. :D

Verbatim do not make DVDR's btw, IIRC most are made by CMC.

Well my ranking from the worst to the best would be as follows
Generic/Bulqpaq---->Princo/Memorex----->Ritek/Ridata/TDK/Fujifilm/Verbatim------>Taiyo Yuden/Apple/Pioneer. However between the Ritek level and the Taiyo Yuden level there is very little difference in compatibility. However there is about 70-80 cents of difference per disc there and Apples/Pioneers run over $1 a disc more than the Riteks. So that is why Riteks get recommended the most. The compatibility you are getting for the cost cannot be matched by any other media.

I cannot find ritek dye manufactured discs anywhere in Australia...

Can someone point me in the direction of all brands using the ritek dye?

Don't know about up North, but you can get a 50 pack of G04's down here for $110 which would be $2.20 a piece.

Yep. PS2 would simplify the problem, you could find what you want on ebay though.
