i just installed windows server 2003 enterprise edition, i wanna install my drivers and some programz..but when i go to download some program from some site it asks me if i wanna install for
windows98/me
windows 2000
windows xp
Which one do i choise? I have no idea, i was told that win 2k3 was a Nt Based so do i click on windows 2k?

TierraDelFuego Nov 12, 2003, 08:46 AM i could ask what you are doing messing around with 2k3E in the first place, but hopefully it is for purely "educational purposes" :)
you were told right, it is an NT'ish system so use either WinXP or Win2k, but i would go for the former as they are the most similar.

sorry i was assuming there weren't any on the sites Sikhmunda was looking @. I have found WinXP drivers/progs seem to work for fine on 2k3 server.

Sikhmunda Nov 12, 2003, 04:21 PM Oh okey, so do i click on the link where it would say download for Xp..am lil confuse for it..i mean some programz ask ..for ex..msn 6.1 asks..and when i downloaded for xp it crashed, then when i downloaded for win2k it worked fine..:confused:
TierraDelFuego Nov 13, 2003, 01:41 AM that's the fun you get for trying OS's which are new and don't have full support in the marketplace yet :)
some things will work and some won't. it's a server OS, you can't expect all normal desktop applications/drivers to work until they are designed specifically.

i dont wanna go back on using win xp..am loving this soo much..maybe its cause i used win 2k for over 2 yearsl. i really dunno what am saying...:mad: :mad:
How long do u think every1 will make their app/drivers for win2k3? I was expecting msn to work on win2k3 because its by microsoft..but even they dont have it..:tdown:

Maybe you should go on mIRC or wherever you downloaded your pirated software from and ask them what to do. :laugh:

If you want to get it to work, go get tweaknt, convert it to a workstation, install kaspersky, then convert it back to a server.

but there again, how many people would buy the enterprise edition without being an admin, there are less taxing(technically) and costly versions available.
