i just got a new burner (a samsung 52x replacing my old lite on 48x), nero refuses to recognize it although vcd easy and fireburner work perfectly, i have tried installing several versions of nero but with no joy, i used the original cd to autodetect etc etc...
someone help me out here for the love of god, cheers.

take a look at the Nero Supported Drives (http://www.ahead.de/en/632012038142166.php?manu=Samsung&lang=en) and see if it is on there.

yeah i swear they do have a samsung listed there, but what if it isnt what are my alternatives for burning data files or mp3s?

well the main options would be Roxio cd creator, although i can't stand it.

personally i like nti cd-maker, no real reason, i have just always got on with it, and it supports svcd which is important to me.

What version of Nero are you using?
Older versions cannot recognize the newer drives and usually require an update.
