The Biostar M7NCG 400 is highly recommended. Pro's: NVIDIA nForce2 IGP / MCP chipset with max FSB of 400MHz, AGP 8x, low cost (under $70 US). Con's: It's a microATX board with 3 PCI slots.

The Abit NF7-M is also a great board. Pro's: nForce2 IGP chipset with MCP, full ATX board. Con's: About $100 US, supports only max 333MHz FSB.

A good, very good, motherboard with onboard VGA - the ASUS A7N266, nice and cheap now as well. Using it on 2 slave computers here right now!

I agree although this is a 266 mobo and the 2600 chip is a 333, if you want to downsize your chip a bit then this is a VERY low budget solution for a second PC. Depends what you are after.

This has been covered recently, have a squizz at this thread (http://www.cdrom-guide.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=259153&highlight=motherboard).

Yep, I agree the A7N266 is a good mobo as I built a small system for a friend with this mobo so I know it from my own experience (not from the search engines :)). Very stable and good BIOS options. It's about $10 cheaper than the Biostar I suggested above.

Yes ditto, should have said, I've used this board for about half a dozen low usage friends and they have all been very happy with the system (and no, they aren't the reason I left the country ;))

Nice dig about the search engines Van, though you might notice that my link was to a thread on this board that covered this recently not a search result. That was the one where you were arguing against using this board for a guy who originally wanted a "cheap, reliable board with onboard graphics and sound".

Well, I'm not against anything, man. I was just suggesting a couple of mobos that not only are they cheap for what he needs, but also do support his current CPU and his future plan for an 8x video card.

Yup, I'm with you on this, the Biostar/Abit are the better solution for LLoBo's needs.
