I was wondering what is a good dvd-rom out there? I just bought a NEC-1300A 4X dvd+-rw. I'm trying to pair it up with a decent, minorly, inexpensive dvd-rom drive. Any ideas?

Post this kind of thing into CoOp in future wod_uk Nov 19, 2003, 02:50 PM liteon, toshiba or pioneer make good dvdrom drives jesterrace777 Nov 19, 2003, 06:10 PM I would lean toward the Toshiba or the Pioneer. Not much difference in price between them and the Lite-On. Lite-On's don't seem to be as adept at reading through discs that have some scratches (in some cases ones that are pretty minor). I have one and it has given me quite a bit more grief then when I was using my Pioneer DVD Burner to read (but that wasn't the best idea either). |
