But to answer your question, its a case of do you need it ? if you do, then its a yes, if not, no. You also have to remember to take into consideration what software or OS can take advantage of this new CPU.

It's better value for money than the new Intel EE processors will be, but compared to the cost of an A64 3200+ it's not worth the price tag. If you are looking to get a high end AMD processor at the moment, I would go for the A64 3200+ or wait a couple of months for the A64 3400+.

You can also use regular ram with the A64's so that is an added bonus.

I would say "absolutely not" unless you are a top end professional user.

Unless money is no object to you of course!

I wouldnt buy it, here are my reasons.

1. Like San had mentioned, or a gaming freak
2. The newer fx's that will come out will be 939 pin instead of 940, and will not be interchangable.
3. Need registered ram

The regular 64 would be a better choice, and as mentioned will take non -regeisterd ram, and at half the price. BTW. I read the 64 3400+ will be out before Christmas.

Yeah unless you live in the wealtest areas of the computer world and don't want to upgrade for a while, because even it will be obselete, just go with a cheaper modle
