I have the DVR-105 here at college, but I'm gunna need one for when I'm home.
Doesnt need to be DVD+R. Just Need DVD-R
4x Record or 2x with good read speeds
CD-R/RW and DVD-RW Speeds doesnt matter.
Any Ideas on what I should get? Thank You

Well, the problem is that the cheapest DVD-R writer seems to have some issues. The cheapest one I know of is the bare OEM 4x Toshiba which is $99 shipped from www.avlogic.com. However, you can get the bare OEM Pioneer 106 from the same site for $119 shipped. The drive is well proven and many consider it to be more stable than the 105 (it does support 4x DVD+R writing as well as DVD-R writing). There is supposed to be the dual-format Lite-On which will be on sale at Office Depot for $89+tax after Mail-In Rebate on the day after Thanksgiving. However you are going to have to wait 6-8 weeks before you are going to be able to enjoy any kind of savings over the Pioneer.

Definitely the 106. I know you don't need both formats but for that price and good 'ol Pioneer dependability, why not. ;)
