Hi there,



I recently set up a home network for my mums,sisters, and my pc, i want to be able to help my mum if need be over the Lan with a lan messenger program.


can anyone please recommend a good, preferrably free, IM client specifically lan based?

I use background communicator, its good! Mainly for voice, but u can Instant message with it too

What OS are you using? XP pro has a very neat facility for remote help, you can basically have them watch what you are doing on your screen on their screen (if you follow) ... just as you said you wanted to "help" you mum that might be of interest.
