My pc kept on overheating and shutting down so i got a more powerful fan which did the trick.
However its very noisy, so i will have to get another one.

So can you guys recommend a very quiet fan but also one thats powerful enough to keep mr pc cool enough.

Thanks

If you're using a 60mm fan, you need to switch to a heatsink that lets you use an 80mm or 92mm fan. Use a high grade thermal paste, too, such as the Arctic Silver 5.

I assume you're referring to the CPU HSF.

Agree with Van, if your using the stock heatsink and fan that came with your CPU, then you will have problems, especialally as you have overclocked your system

The best value noise / performance HSF i know of is the Vantec VA4-C7040 , which is a very good heatsink with a quite (ish) fan, their is a review at http://www.frostytech.com/articleview.cfm?articleid=1259&page=4 , which has a sound sample

If you also want some good case fans try theses http://homepage.ntlworld.com/dorothy.bradbury/panaflo.htm

yuo might also want to look at the air flow inside your case (front -> back) and the fans on your PSU, and video card
