I would really like the Neoya High Definition VGA box to go with my 19" Auriga Multi-synce monitor BUT a big warning on their website say that M$ have disabled High Definition support on the Pal XBox which I have....

why the hell did they do that ???

:mad: I feel so ripped off .... typical f**king M$ and they dont tell Pal owners that when u buy it

my box is X2.2 lite chipped and I dont mind hacking the bios but I have searched hi and low and no clear information is available on that.

Meanwhile I have ordered a Sagestar (Redant) YPbPr VGA but it is not true VGA because it only converts the Component video output to VGA so the only mode available is 480i :(

Can anyone tell me the pros & cons of both of these vga boxes ?

I am used to the beautiful output of my Dreamcast VGA box .... will the Sagestar component output come anywhere close to that ?

... it would have to be better than the blurry AV connection on my Sony TV though wouldn't it..... or have I wasted my money ???

It works fine with a pal xbox, you just need to use video selector and select ntsc mode, go into ms dashboard the high def options will now be available so click yes to 480, 780, 1080 outputs and welcome to how the games should really look.

The x2vga is the dogs conkers very happy with it, also got an email from them they are also selling a cheap add-on to switch between pc and xbox easily

Also can u tell me because I read somewhere that the images in 720p are really distorted and elongated when displayed on a multi-sync monitor with the X2VGA ? It was in a review I read.

If I put my 19" Auriga monitor from Windows into 1280 x 720 (720p) it looks totally crap !!!!

Can u comment on that and does it look totally normal in 480p mode ?

Oh and can u watch DVD movies in 480p or higher on VGA mon ?
If so what name is the hack u need to find ?

Yes the enigmah vid selector is what you need, and i havent found any problems with games playing upto 720p in fact Tony Hawks looks jaw dropping, the one game i saw running in 1080p was running smaller but i cant see the problem with adjusting your monitor (i.e geometry stretching horizontally,vertically) to compensate.

480p and 720p look fine and dandy and my monitor is a few years old now cant see any problems whatsoever with your Auriga.

I ordered my X2VGA this morning and they are shipping it so I should hav it in a week or so.... really looking forward to it now :D

I had been stressing that I wouldn't get it working on Pal .... w.t.f. were M$ thinking when they disabled HD on Pal Xbox's ????

Seems they are just cutting their own balls off doing that !!!

Oh and my missus thought yr expression was a crackup ( must be yank is it ? ) "... the dogs conkers" LOL .... because the dog next door Buddy, has a huge dangly set of bollocks ( conkers )

Ha ! u can't help seeing them as our back door overlooks their yard and he is always looking up to say hello....

Oh and I just found out that their is a new X2VGA version that works even better if you have a version 1.4 xbox like mine .... which has the new FOCUS videochip (old version had Connexant)

Don't know what the new features are because the sales people at Neoya didn't say much but I should know soon !
