hello
i want to update my memory but its rimms and they are too much so i want to change to something like sdram or ddr ram but to do that i'll have to change the cpu dont i ???
My system is a
Advent 3000 series
genuineintel
intel p4
128.0 RAM

You need to change your motherboard. then a CPU to match the socket type.

Its going to cost you more money to buy a new mobo and ddr ram than, it will be than just buying rimm.

If you just get 512, you shouldnt need to have anymore. But if you feel you want to make a change, then get a new mobo that fits your processor. If you do buy a new mobo, that means reloading windows, and installing drivers and all that crap.

If your going to buy a new board, you need to find out what pin processor you have (how many pins on processor). If you dont have a clue what you are doing I would suggest just staying with what you have and buy rimms, Your going to get yourself into a mess. If I can find you a tutorial I will post it up for ya.
