I have a Dell optiplex GXi 5200L, The problem is it isn't storing the BIOS settings and aslo when I go into the Bios the clock is running very fast, when it eventually gets into windows the clock runs fine,
Anybody any Ideas?

I've tried chaging the battery but it doesn't make any difference

apart from the battery, i could only think to flash the bios.
hopefully you're aware of the consequences or issues with doing this. if not read about it first and make sure you follow the help file available on all bios update websites.

I know this is an old thread, but this forum seems to be the only place where a fast bios clock is mentioned. I have a Dell Power Edge 2300 server with the same problem. Was there ever a reason, or solution found?

It could be that there is a jumper setting on the mobo that needs setting to the correct position.
