Hey guys,

Not sure if this is the right place to post. But is it possible to make my own cable. I know it's a usb male to usb male. I had a go of making one but could'nt get it to work. I got all the other stuff just need a cable.

Does anyone know if these cables are made slightly differently.

Thanks.

I dont think you can. The cable has a controller chip in the middle or something.
I assume you want to connect your computer with your ps2. And I like to use Pukklink with a nice crossover to my computer.

would you mine posting how you installed Pukklink and how to work it?? ive only tried Naplink but when i booted Pukk the first time with, it said it couldnt find the IPCONFIG

ive used the script from the readme.doc from mcloader to load it to the memory card and it seems to work without that error i mentioned above. but im not sure if it is working yet.

but a nice walk throug would be nice.

btw, im not sure how that script works from the readme.doc. it has it, well i guess booting from mc0:/BWLINUX/ which was not on my memory card when i tried it and it seemed to work.

you using inlink or what as a client? again, a nice walkthrough would be cool. that or could you post the files you used to install it. i know you can run it from cd, but i assume you installed it to the mc (since almost everybody does).

btw they sell adapters for the USB cable for like 7usd. or you can do what most people do and buy a cheap, really cheap usb hub. the hub takes like 4 female2male usb cables, but the main one routing back to the pc is male, so its like this PC -> MaleUSB 2 Female HUB Port -> HUB 2 FemaleUSB 2 MaleUSB cable 2 device. Just find a picture of a USB hub if you confused.

PCUSB|<->|HUB|<->|USBDevice

Yeah thanks,

I wanna transfer memory card saves from the ps2 to pc, but i don't have a network adapter thing so i need to get a cable.

Done some research and the usb cable has a PL-2301 chip in the middle. So all i need to do is find this chip and find out how i can fit it into the cable somehow. :(

See ya.
