Hey guys, is this burner good for burning PS2 and Xbox games? I mean will it last me? Reason I ask is because Best Buy has a sale tommorrow (black friday) and from 6am - 12pm its $79.99 A/R. Thanx.

P.S.: Posted one of these topics in the DVD discussion but wasn't getting responses.

Be patient, it takes time to respond at this time of night. Anyways, I would take the Pioneer 106 or the Sony Dru510A over the Lite-On. Both have an excellent track record and the Lite-On is still unproven. Also Lite-On products do seem to have a few short-comings. How much is the drive out of the store? (before rebates). You might also want to take a look at the following from someone who never got his mail-in rebate from Lite-On. http://www.cdrom-guide.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&postid=1456045#post1456045

Sorry man, I just really needed to know fast last night. Well... before rebates the burner is $130 but after all the mailing and stuff it comes out to be $80. Good buy if you ask me. Man Black Friday is a beast!!! I got the last one at 6am in the morn!!! Thanx.

I have both the 411s and also the AO6 and for PS2 ganes the pioneer is the way to go..
I am using Ritek G04 -R discs and a DMS3 Modchip and on the pioneer all games boot perfectly 95% of the time. With the Lite-on I am used to getting a red screen on boot "Please insert PSONE or PS2 formatted disc" with about every other game, and sometimes everyone.. It is spiratic as sometimes it works fine.. I would think it is the chip but the pioneer discs work fine. I have also tried +R discs with similiar results..
Hope it works well for you..

I have the older Pioneer 105/A05 but I use the same G04 discs and the DMS3 modchip. No problems so far for me either. I have heard that the Lite-On can be picky, I guess it's all luck of the draw.
