Just wondering if anyone here knows the way to point that out by version or drive brand..

i think philips doesnt. im not to sure about samsung. but i heard people saying thomson is good for dvd+r

lol, the Thomson ain't good for anything!

Basically it's hit or miss with DVD+R. Well, with any format really. The fact of the matter is that the Thomson is the worst, the Phillips the second worst and the Samsung is by a mile the best. Now, one drive of one type will read DVD+R and another drive won't.

You just need to try one and see, simple as that. You can't say for certain.

well i had my Xbox with THomson drive over a year now plays DVD-R, DVD+R without any problems to date. And also DVD-RW & DVD+RW but need two reboot most of the time.

Samsung doesn't like DVD+R and Phillips wont read them at all in my experience...

- Good thing i have a Thomson drive. Reads al DVD formats that i tried. Reboot between games is a must though.. no biggie.

yeah, that's how it goes that's how we blows triple reloads :D

My Thomsons Drive read every format excluding cd-rs...
