Blade107 Nov 28, 2003, 11:36 AM Just wondering if anyone here knows the way to point that out by version or drive brand.. Cheers:tup: EnvyCell Nov 28, 2003, 11:42 AM i think philips doesnt. im not to sure about samsung. but i heard people saying thomson is good for dvd+r Memphis Nov 28, 2003, 11:48 AM lol, the Thomson ain't good for anything! Basically it's hit or miss with DVD+R. Well, with any format really. The fact of the matter is that the Thomson is the worst, the Phillips the second worst and the Samsung is by a mile the best. Now, one drive of one type will read DVD+R and another drive won't. You just need to try one and see, simple as that. You can't say for certain. redwolf Nov 28, 2003, 12:37 PM well i had my Xbox with THomson drive over a year now plays DVD-R, DVD+R without any problems to date. And also DVD-RW & DVD+RW but need two reboot most of the time. nonzero Nov 28, 2003, 12:43 PM Samsung doesn't like DVD+R and Phillips wont read them at all in my experience... DC Fisherman Nov 28, 2003, 03:29 PM my samsung doesn't read dvd+r. Blade107 Nov 28, 2003, 04:15 PM - Good thing i have a Thomson drive. Reads al DVD formats that i tried.
