hi iv got a v3 ps2 with neo 2.2 chip
iv had for 3 years
i use it with swap magic
i have original fifa 2004 and ssx3 both ea games
when they load picture and movies are perfect
then when i play the games the football players and skiers flicker all over the place
all other games back up and originals play ok
the ps2 is pal the tv is pal the games are pal
iv tryed 2 different original fifa 2004
both still flicker
just had a new laser fitted it stll doz it
has any one else had this with the lastest ea games
with a neo 2.2 fitted even with originals
have they put something in the games to make it flicker
when a chip is installed

yeah I had an issue with EA games, and for whatever reason it turned out to be the media I was using. My games used to flicker backrounds or quit working when a load screen comes up. Once I switched media the games worked perfectly............perfect

Hmmmm sorry I didnt read the whole post really. Anyways I just think EA always has something fishy going on.........

It could be the old modchip that you are using or it could be something to do with your new laser.

like i say all other games whether original or back up are ok
it done it with the old laser and the new laser
thats why i changed the laser
older ea games are ok
just the latest EA games
any one else got a neo 2.2 then put oiginal fifa 2004 or any other latest EA GAME in there ps2 and get flickers on the players

yeah i have to say that is down to the media.:)

I have almost all of the recent EA Games on DVD-Rs and I have had no problems whatsoever with flicker or anything. All of the games boot fine and play just like the originals. Have you tried copying the games and then playing them? I agree with some of the other members that it might be your old modchip. If nothing else works, you might want to get something new or try the flip top lid.

I read somewhere that older ps2's have problems reading newer games being that there originals try them out in a friends ps2 and see if it still happens
