punk1988 Dec 08, 2003, 03:08 AM i just bought a dvd recorder today, its a emprix duel recorder, not sure if its any good or not, but ill determine that later, plus i could always return it and get another one.
i am slightly confused on using it, the programs it came with seems to suck (roxio) i hav nero, but it wont pick up on the recorder.
i am currantly in the process of making a back up of a dvd 5 using dvd shrink and copytodvd, is this a good combination to use for backing up dvds??
also, is it possible to burn divx movies to a dvd that is watchable on a standalone dvd player?? if so, do u guys have a link to a tutorial, or the programs i would need
thanx a bunch :hdspin:
Tom Croydon Dec 08, 2003, 08:34 AM I assume that " pick up on the recorder " means that it can't be played...if so, I can't help you on that one. DVD Shrink is a great program. You may not need to use DVD Shrink if you're trying to copy a DVD 5...which is probably a copy amd therefore has no macrovision on it. I've never used Copytodvd but if it works for you, stick with it. As for the DIVX part, it depends on whether or not your stand alone can play DIVX movies...not all of them can. Check your owner's manual. Good luck!
punk1988 Dec 08, 2003, 09:47 AM now i am having a problem with the actual burning, it ripped into my hard drive and encoded and everything, then i tryed the copytodvd to burn the video_ts file, and it got an error, then my nero doesnt read the recorder. what other program could i use, what do u guys recommend.
thanx
punk1988 Dec 08, 2003, 10:06 AM ok, i got my nero to reconize the recorder, how would i go about burning the files? would i just burn all the files that were ripped as an iso?? or just burn the video_ts as a dvd movie? help would be greatly appreciated :)
Rolling Thunder Dec 08, 2003, 10:36 AM If you run Nero Express (the wizard interface), then chose DVD video, it should create an empty AUDIO_TS and a red coloured empty VIDEO_TS folder. Double click the red folder, click ADD and select all the files you created in your video_ts folder. Click finish on the ADD box and then follow through the rest of the wizard to set your DVD title and burner settings, etc.

handyguy Dec 08, 2003, 11:03 AM Never heard of that one.
decode with dvdshrink 2.3 or better
write with Nero dvd video. easy
Boomer2000 Dec 08, 2003, 11:06 AM dvd decypter to rip dvd 9 or dvd 5 if they are copy protected
dvdshrink to trim dvd 9's down to fit dvd 5
burnatonce to burn
All in the tutorial guide at the top :)
jesterrace777 Dec 08, 2003, 04:22 PM Yeah, but BAO is supposed to only really work well with Pioneer DVD Burners. I would definitely go with Recordnow Max or Nero for the actual burning program.
