I purchased a new Buslink DVD +R/RW drive to replace my older toshiba dvd rom and installed it along with the accompanying sonic sofrtware suite. The sonic suite crashed my PC so I removed it and installed Nero. I was successfully able to burn a DVD from my harddrive to a +RW disk. This disk played well on my pc. However, now I cannot play any of my other commercial dvd's anymore. Powerdvd gives me error code "8902003" "dvd disk may be damaged to inhibit playback". The dvd's play fine on my other computer. I tried reinstalling powerdvd, reinstalling my older toshiba drive, installing the powerdvd (XP 4.0) patch, using windows update, installing windvd (crahes), removing nero and a lot of other things. But still no luck. Burned dvd'd and vob's off my hard drive work fine, commercial dvd's dont. Any help will be appreciated.

Sounds as though this may be a Region issue.

Check what region code the drive is set to

Edit :
If Region is ok, it's most likely a software/conflict issue.
Try uninstalling all burning software and player software, then uninstall the drive and reboot, letting Windows redetect it and install it afresh. Then install just one piece of Player software and one burning proggie.

I did try DVD Genie with no luck. According to the powerdvd website, there is a different error code message for region issues. Also, when I installed windvd, it asked me to select a region code and I selected 1. All the dvd's that I am not able to play are region code 1.
I will try to unistall and reinstall the drive again and see if that helps. Everthing seems to point to the driver being the culprit.
Thanks for the reply.
