first off, i would like to say that i did a search and couldn't find any help..

Ok, here's my problem..
I just got this vers 7 ps2 with magic 3.1.
I burnt a copy of True Crime (DVDR) at 1 speed on ritek.
It WOULD NOT play! Kept going to the pink screen asking for a ps2 game.
I kept trying and trying then it works on the 3rd try.
Now, I know it works. THen say couple hours later when I wanted to play it again, I put the game in, power ps2 on, tap the reset button.
It again, goes to the pink screen. I do it again and again and it
finally works again.
This so far is the only DVDR I have, so I can't test it with others. Not yet.
I'll have to burn more to test it. But is there a certain way of booting it up? Please help me out. Thanks.

Sounds like a media or laser problem. Use quality discs like ritek or apple or verbatim. Clean your laser with a laser cleaning disc(has brushes on the surface). HTH

lolol ... the magic 3.1 sucks anal dude that was huge mistake getting that chip i know . that chip cost me 3 playstations lol try all the different booting methods cause its not the laser and the discs are fine. and a good way to test your laser if your not sure is to put a dvd movie in and watch it . and if it plays all the way through with no problem then your laser is fine .

dont use that cleaner disc, unless you can think of a reason to use that instead of a alcohol swab? cleaner disc is bad idea, there is plenty of articles on the net describing why, some even say its a conspiracy to ruin your laser, but i dont believe that in full. Just use alcohol.

besides that, yeh i heard that magic is really not the best thing in the world, at all. if its a protection problem and not a read problem you could use swap magic 2 to load it maybe?? dunno
