My PS2 has recently started crashing

It has jammed up in the middle of various new games (CDR) and has never done this before... When it jams the PS2 gets very loud and is obviously trying to read the disc...The media i am using is the same as always...

PS2 is chipped with a neo 2.2

Any ideas ?

Cheers

Sound like the laser needs a clean or the laser may even be needing replaced

 how do i go about that?

Should i use a normal CD or DVD lense cleaner?

Try a lens cleaner first. If that doesn't work, it will need to be opened up to be cleaned physically. If that doesn't work, then it needs to be replaced.

Usually it does that from *heat* becuz you have it on carpet or in an entertainment center, both of these are nonos or your vents clogged with dust.

try blowing some dustoff in the ps2 to clean it out, and also try playing the game with the ps2 vertical.
