you dont actually own the game or console, you own a liscense to use it thats all so if people really do need a "backup" you can send your broke original cd/dvd game to the company u bought it off with proof of purchase to the developer and theyll send you an original for cost price(or close to it)

you got to read up on what is considered fair use. btw your ? about dnas is obsured. you should do some research and find out what exactly things are, dont look to others for answer like these, only trust what you read.
with that said, you should have no more ?'s if you do your research.

First of all DNAS is used now for everything ps2 online wise. The software makers along with SCEA who actually make and licence the game can put anything that they want on it to do anything they want. DNAS is just a safeguard that is a 100percent legal because they know u are running an ILLEGAL copy or have a mod in the system(that isn't turned off  ). They reserv the right to do anthing they want because 1 its there networks that are running the servers for the software and 2 its there software.

Yup, developers can do whatever they want w/ their games.

If the consumer (you in this case) aint happy, then dont download the illigal game, go buy it.
