Ok, this is really bothering me.. One day, about a month ago. I went to connect to my XBOX as usual. I didn't change ANYTHING. But I couldnt get through. The connection would just time out. Well.. One thing has led to another.. Now I have ended up formatting my computer AND XBOX harddrive.. And still nothing. I have tried using many different drivers for my network card too. Here is the strange part.. The PC recognizes the ethernet adapter. I fix it up and assign it an IP, usually 192.168.0.3.. Then I assign the XBOX and ip. 192.168.0.2. and give it a password yadadaad. When the router cable is in both NIC's... The LED on the XBOX NIC lights up.. But the one on my PC DOESNT! Also, EVOX gets the link too.. But when I try to connect.. It does nothing but time out.. Is there ANY clue to what is going on!? I used some refresh disk on my XBOX.. It deleted all of my stuff, which I am still pissed about.. But I dont even know if it did anything to the C drive. Which is what matters.... Besides the evox.ini, could something else in there be messed up and causing this? Note: I replaced the evox.ini and it's fine.

only thing I can think of is your firewall, if running any... disable it...

Thanks for the reply. Just how do I disable a firewall?? I get firewall errors all the time like with MSN messenger. I have windows 98 btw.
