That is good to know. I like how he made very clear that the dye matters and not the label on the disc.

Yup .... I couldn't find anything there to disagree with (unusual for me :D)

The list of good and bad dyes seems spot on too.

Yes they are. You will notice that the Verbatims that people are having the most trouble with have the CMC dye on them. Just because Verbatim puts thier logo on a disc doesn't mean it's good.

He also calls Piodata "fake" Pioneer.I bought 25 Piodata straight from a Pioneer retailer. They had the Pioneer logo on the sealed wrapper. He lists Optodisc as good,Lead Data as bad.My Optodiscs and my Lead Data both come up as Lead Data when checked. Both have been flawless in my burns.
My main burners are the Sony 500a and the Pioneer 106.He doesn't even mention Samsung or Mitsui. Also as for his "fake" Sony,I have 25 Sony dvd-r and 25 dvd+r in Sony Jewel cases, sent to me from Sony as part of a dealers promotion.I have yet to open them, but I plan on checking these "fake" discs.Of course, you have to remember,he is in England.Brand quality seems to vary from one continent to another,at times.

Well I guess it is just like the Pirate's Code. . . . .more like guidelines than actual rules. (seen Pirates of the Caribbean a few times too many  )
