I have evolution x installed on my xbox and it boots to that, Is there a way to get the xbox booting to the Microsoft dashboard with the option to change to the evolution x dashboard from within the Microsoft dashboard, in other words the other way around to what it's running now!

It would be more trouble than its worth. An alternative would be to get a dashboard called "Select-X" and name that as your evoxdash.xbe. Then when the xbox starts up you can select up to 8 different dashboards (including the original msdash) with the push of a button.
