I just purchased a couple of Chameleons to install into two friends Xboxes. The chips came with the solderless adaptor. I've installed the chip fine and get the Linux screen to come up.

Now, I guess I'm suppose to be able to flash the chip with a new or additional bios by renaming it to linusbios.bin burning it to CDRW or DVD and booting it from the linux screen. I've got a couple of questions:

1.) What would be the best bios to use? I tried the EvoX.D.6.blue and EvoX.D.6.red but get an error saying the bios is 256k and that 512k is supported. These are what I used on a previous Matrix install. (The chip is set in programmable position with both switches in the off position.

2.) Can I program this chip from my PC with the Bios I desire? And will it work with the Matrix programmer I have or to I need a new programmer specific for the Chameleon?

3.) Is SlaYers an option? Both machines will use the orginial drives and I'd like to keep their game saves. I have SlaYers burned to DVD and it works fine on my machine which already has the Matrix installed and working, but will not boot in the other xboxs.

4.) Am I correct in the statement above and am I approching this istall correctly. I installed a Matrix chip in the past with very little problem. The Easybuy2000.com directions are not as straight forward as I thought that they seemed.

Thank you for your help.

Yes, you can, but go to the website and download the software you need for the flashing of the chamelon.

This is because it does not have a bios yet.....

Thanks Looper. Has anyone flashed the Chameleon via CDRW or DVD?

Thanks!
