I am absolutly brand new when it comes to burning a movie DVD. I've only had experience with PS2 games.

What i would like to do is burn a movie that is on a DVD9, but to a DVD5 and still keep everything intact (movie plus extras).

Now here's my question: Can i burn just the movie onto 1 DVD, and then just the extras onto another?

I believe this is possible but you would have to do 2 seperate projects. Pinnacle IC8 should be able to do that for you. Just burn one disc with the menus and movie and then the other with the menu and special features. BTW in regaurds to your first question, yes you can put everything onto one disc but you might notice a bit of a drop in picture quality. Make sure if you are going this route that you use a program that allows you to improve the overall quality of your results (ie DVD Shrink's Deep Analysis or IC8's High Quality option).

No problem, just keep in mind that you will have to run through the process twice. (once for the menus and movie and once for the menus and special features). You will need to decrypt the movie first which can easily be done with DVD Decrypter.

Ok i ripped the movie with DVD Decrypter. Now I'm using Instant Copy to make an image of the movie and the menu. I chose the high quality instead of the high speed compression or whatever it is, and it's taking forever. The guide said it should take about 1-2 hours, but its already been probably 2 and it's still going and there's a long time left.

How long does it usually take other people? The movie i'm trying to burn is Mallrats.
