kraysellz Jan 03, 2004, 05:42 PM newegg is doing it for $1.10 a dvd... let me know if there's a better place.. FearMyPenguin Jan 03, 2004, 05:50 PM Rima.com has Ritek G04's for $0.95. Only problem is you need to buy a hundred! They also sell 25 at $1.10. Hope I helped! http://www.rima.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=R&Product_Code=1633-100 <------- link Nuttapper Jan 03, 2004, 06:57 PM Looks like ur in the US but I buy them @ £45 for 50 from the local shop in a cased spindle jesterrace777 Jan 04, 2004, 04:40 AM Originally posted by kraysellz newegg is doing it for $1.10 a dvd... let me know if there's a better place.. There are sites that are a little bit cheaper but no site that has the excellent customer service reputation that newegg does. I personally trust Rima as they have given me nothing but good service but once you add in shipping costs (newegg offers free shipping with thier riteks) it won't save you that much over newegg. The only reason why I keep using Rima is that I like ordering in 25 packs. It would probably take me 4-5 months to go through a spindle of 100 and with the way prices are dropping on Riteks lately it would end up costing me money in the long run. codeman Jan 04, 2004, 12:46 PM {DV 3094} ARITA RITEK 1x-4x 4.7GB DVD-R disc in Packs of 25 Arita is a brand name of Ritek, so its no surprise to know that these discs use the same dark purple "G04" dye as other Ritek brands such as Traxdata and Ridata. He is in the USA. TAXX10 Jan 05, 2004, 03:58 PM supermediastore.com and meritline.com .95 each for the 4x ritek and there both in california. Alch Jan 05, 2004, 04:12 PM I buy mine from meritline. happy with them so far. celtic_druid Jan 06, 2004, 01:58 AM Off to the media forum... kraysellz Jan 06, 2004, 10:45 PM hmm any of them outside of CA? I hate to pay tax... jesterrace777 Jan 07, 2004, 01:27 AM Not any reliable sites that I know of. I have heard of a www.esbuy.com but I'm not sure if they are located in CA or not. *EDIT* Nevermind they are located in Irvine, CA. bnbhoha Jan 07, 2004, 11:10 PM rima.com (my #1) supermediastore.com (my #2) newegg.com (very good and reputable) mertline.com (as a last resort) If you signup for supermediastore.com's news letter, they send you coupon codes. I can get a 100 pack spindle of Ritek G04s for $89 delivered in the US jesterrace777 Jan 08, 2004, 01:12 AM Not bad. Like you though, I prefer Rima.com. kraysellz Jan 08, 2004, 07:54 PM all of them in CA!!! you guys are killing me jesterrace777 Jan 09, 2004, 04:34 AM You are the one that is killing us here. I just spent a while searching on google and could not find a single site that wasn't located in CA. Just bite the bullet and pay the sales tax. You will still be getting a good deal. What is sales tax down there anyway? Somewhere between 7-8% if I remember right. Which means on a 25 pack of 4x Riteks you would pay less than $3 in sales tax. Even if we could find you a place outside of CA, it would probably be somewhere that no one has experience with so we couldn't tell you if you were going to get scammed or not. It's alot cheaper to pay under $3 in sales tax than it is to get ripped off for a batch of discs. ;) kraysellz Jan 09, 2004, 10:14 AM well i need 1000 dvdrs a month... that's $77.50 extra a month!!!!! kraysellz Jan 09, 2004, 10:15 AM by the way, why do you guys prefer rima.com? good service? good price? rima is pretty much the same as the rest in terms of price... jesterrace777 Jan 09, 2004, 03:14 PM I have always had good service with them. However since you are looking to go through that many DVD-Rs in a month I would suggest ordering from www.meritline.com or www.allmediaoutlet.com as they carry them in 500 packs. concorde Jan 17, 2004, 09:49 AM guys try www.banddistribution.co.uk £88 @ hundred for printable ritec DR69ON Feb 04, 2004, 07:14 PM It's no coincident that all the DVD-R online sellers are from southern california. I say your best bet is to get it from new egg as they offer free shipping. Just have someone from out of state by it, then they can ship it to you via media mail. DR69ON Feb 09, 2004, 04:10 AM Meritline has a 10%off discount for the next 3 day. So consider it like paying tax. 100 ritek g03 = 72 dollar plus 6 dollar in tax in ca 100 ritek g04 = 90 dollar plus 7 dollar in tax in ca Free shipping... I brought several times from meritline and gotten good result. But I been hearing rumor recently that they're using crappy ritek media, so i'm unsure. I just order some to see if they're as good as the last 4 orders I have made with them. kraysellz Feb 09, 2004, 10:05 AM i also sent a guy 200 ritek media from meritline and he says some of them had "write-error" when trying to write to them.... now who in here ever heard of that??? i've heard of a read error, but very rarely (1 out of 10,000) that has a write error on the media... i'm pissed at meritline.. i just hope the ones that did copy correctly won't mess up here and there.. that would be real annoying jesterrace777 Feb 10, 2004, 03:32 AM Then try ordering from another site. Try www.rima.com or www.newegg.com I have had excellent service with both sites. DR69ON Feb 12, 2004, 02:58 AM Got my disc from Meritline today. Order on sunday, shipped on monday and recieve today (weds). Disc came fine and were the same quality ritek. I figure all the people that got good result never post good feedback. I've order from them 5 times already and have never bother to put up good feedback. I know many other people that are in the same sitation. It seem when there is mistakes, there would be a big fuss about them and bad rating are posted. jesterrace777 Feb 12, 2004, 04:03 AM I know 420 has mentioned before that Meritline was supposed to be in trouble with the Better Business Beurau. Or maybe I am having another memory lapse. alexhho Feb 17, 2004, 12:16 PM I just bought the 25 pack with free shipping from Meritline. Thanks, Jesterrace, for all the help and suggestions. jesterrace777 Feb 17, 2004, 03:49 PM No Problem. ;) DR69ON Feb 25, 2004, 03:34 AM Any place that sell G03 Ridata? (ones with silver matte finish). I don't like the shiney top Ritek. Try Rima and Meritline and both are the shiny top ritek. jesterrace777 Feb 25, 2004, 03:38 AM G03s are disappearing now. The frosted top Ridatas that you are referring to are now all 4x. Watch newegg.com if you play your cards right you can catch them selling 50 packs of the 4x Ridatas for quite a reasonable price. I just picked up a 50 pack of them from newegg for $45 shipped. They have gone up a few $ but are still under $1 a disc shipped. DR69ON Feb 26, 2004, 07:56 PM Yea, I know they're dissappearing fast. I just like th G03 because they're 20 dollar less than the G03 and I burn them at 2x anyways. If anyone know a good site, please post. jesterrace777 Feb 27, 2004, 03:30 AM Rima carries them but they are about the same price as meritline. www.rima.com aspi90 Mar 01, 2004, 07:51 PM www.ukdvdr.co.uk ritek g04 purple top 50 spindle for £29.99 paumcd Mar 03, 2004, 05:58 PM just bought some ritek G04's off ebay's buy it now. $98 for 100 or $52 for 50 and they take paypal. not too bad and only a few clicks. jesterrace777 Mar 03, 2004, 06:13 PM I wouldn't trust ebay for media. Why do that when you can get 50 packs of G04 Riteks from www.newegg.com for under $50 with free fedex shipping. You can also exhange them if they doesn't work. Ebay sellers have a tendency to be iffy on anything but DOA. Last time I checked they were going for $48 shipped but the price sometimes drops a few $ per pack. You can also get 100 packs from www.rima.com for about $93 shipped or www.meritline.com also has some good deals on 100 packs. *EDIT* Just checked newegg and they are offering the Riteks at $45 shipped for a 50 pack again. Great deal. ;) paumcd Mar 04, 2004, 10:49 AM not sure why the ole' fleabay is not trustworthy for media. they're genuinely sealed ritek's with the logo imprinted on the disc. ebay has buyer protection. paypal has buyer protection. if the seller waffles, i have plenty of recourse. and his/her reputation and feedback is published for all to see. seller's have less overhead and transaction costs than stores on ebay therefore they can offer more competitive prices. but to each his own. jesterrace777 Mar 04, 2004, 05:12 PM More competitive prices? I'm not trying to turn this into a pissing match but maybe you missed that newegg has them cheaper than the prices you listed and you don't have to worry about someone outbidding you at the last minute to get them at a great price. True there are the Buy It Now options but 90% of them are rediculously overpriced. So you might have to sift through 50-100 auctions before finding a decent deal rather than just going over to a site that carries them for a better price and ordering them. Also last time I checked shipping costs are not included in most of those pricetags. As mentioned newegg carries 50 packs of 4x Riteks for under $50 WITH SHIPPING on a regular basis. I really do like ebay for a number of things but I would never pick up media from them when there are so many sources that are more reliable. It's the return policy that I would be worried about. Most ebay sellers will gaurantee electronics against DOA but the same protections do not apply to media. I realize there is the feedback system but if the media is sealed, even the seller isn't aware of whether or not the discs are defective. I am just saying that newegg has a better return policy than most sellers on ebay. That and when you can get a 50 pack of Riteks for under $50 shipped (at any time you want to) it just doesn't make sense to go for them on ebay. paumcd Mar 04, 2004, 07:25 PM ok i lied. i really buy my media from a naked guy in a raincoat who has a nice selection of stuff in the lining of his coat. he even has a better business bureau sign dangling from his "junk" as we like to say in canada. he takes credit cards but doesn't give them back. always service with a smile and then some. i think everyday is his birthday by his demeanor. he doesn't have the website nor a storefront nor a home....yet. all he needs is cash for some malt liquor and i happily oblige. is it exploitation when i give him a five spot? is it exploitation when he exposes himself? and what was eating gilbert grape? you say tomato. i say unprocessed ketchup. DR69ON Mar 07, 2004, 04:56 PM Originally posted by paumcd just bought some ritek G04's off ebay's buy it now. $98 for 100 or $52 for 50 and they take paypal. not too bad and only a few clicks. The problem with ebay is the shipping is always overcharge. YOu didn't mention the shipping cost. They will charge you anywhere from 11 to 20 just for shipping while Rima will charge you about 4 buck. Comparing the price plus shipping for Ebay & Rima, Rima wins hand down. Only fools buy thier media on ebay. Meritline also take paypal. Try buying from Rima, Newegg and you'll be much happier with the price and service. mentro Apr 11, 2004, 12:02 PM www.blankmedia.ca is really good, excellent customer service too jesterrace777 Apr 11, 2004, 04:45 PM Yup, for Canada they seem to be the place to go. Also newegg now has an Easter Special going on 50 packs of Ridatas. $40.50USD with free shipping on a 50 pack of the 4x Ridatas. www.newegg.com If you don't mind silvertops or ordering from meritline then you can get them just a little bit cheaper. 4x silvertop Unbranded Riteks for $38 shipped. www.meritline.com 9Homersimpson9 Apr 11, 2004, 05:21 PM I get mine for £12 for 25. But that is at Blank disc shop. (britain) Gaucho Aug 05, 2004, 12:53 PM I saw a link around here for www.supermeadiastore.com i took a look at them and there prices look good. Anyone use them before? Gaucho Aug 05, 2004, 12:55 PM :madhack: opps that didnt work...here is the good one. http://www.supermediastore.com/index.html |
