hi all just had to reinstall my pc only now it not letting me do anything with my pioneer 104 dvd-r /rw disk drive,in device manger say this is working fine ,,but when i put a disk in in just say its a blank disk ,trying to find new dive ,but keep finding firmware upgrade ,that does not work any help would b great cheers all

when you say reinstall pc do you mean new hardware or just software to hdd???
if you have nero installed then it may help to uninstall it, then reinstall and on set up do a nero speed test of your dvdr/rom drives.

no i mean oi had to reinstall win xp ,and use easy cd 6 tried uninstall m8 just keeps saying blank disk when i no its not need help badly as doing my head in cheers

no still need help badly guys ,with no disk in drive it lets me open the drive in my computer,but as soon as i put disk in it locks up and in roxio 6 it say blanks disk tried to upload firmware but it say no ,and can not find just a newer driver help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

hi all still having trouble with this i have installed new firmware and still reads all disk as blank please help me or its going in bin cheers

please state what you have tried and in which order.
1- roxio not liked by me (and others), put in bin lol.
2- f/ware you cannot just put it on any old how---- get info off google for firmware sites with a help forum.(last resort if its been working ok previously)
3- have you tried nero???
4- whats you specs.???

hi m8 i no firmware is last resort ? tried it just normal dvd drive without any copying softwarec and still just locks up when i put disk in makes no differance as to spec as was fine that prev day , will try nero tonite ,but if its not work on a noral run i.e just to play a musice ,or game or look at disk donot c what differance this will make may be its just die ?? it the only thing i can think of
