Hi

I have a 4x dvd+r drive , its a JLMS XJ-HD 166S that came preinstalled in my HP pc but the bulkpak discs i use only write at 2.4x even tho the discs are 4x.

I was told by a friend that this may be because of the discs and there are sites wich tell you what disc will write at what speed with your dvd writer, can anyone tell me where i can find a list of 4x compatable discs??

Thank u

The JLMS 166S is a DVD-ROM so I highly doubt you're able to write any DVDs with it ;) Anyway the Bulkpaq's are usually crap.
Discs with mfr IDs MCC.....002 (Mitsubishi), RICOHJPNR01 (Ricoh) and YUDEN000T01 (Taiyo Yuden) are imho some of the best 4x DVD+Rs. Search http://www.dvdrhelp.com/dvdmedia for finding brands with these mfr IDs.

I can't imagine that Bulqpaq's reputation is any better for it's DVD+R discs than it is for it's DVD-R discs. Switch to a brand that uses the Ricoh dye on it's discs as they are supposed to be great for DVD+R.

ask meritline.com what to use then buy from them.
