As title says really does anyone have any experience with one or know any good/bad points?

It's a relabeled NEC 1300A if that tells you anything. ;) For the price they are charging for it you could get a Pioneer 106 and I would definitely take that over the NEC.

It was in a used sale for £40 mate, but didn't know much about them so I left it. Also it was black. Too late now though anyhow:). Think I'll go for 8x anyway when media becomes more available.

Well, I personally don't recommend buying used writers anyways. You never know what has been done to them (ie using hacked firmware, ect.).

I agree with jesterrace777 the Pioneer 106 is good we have just got one at work.

4x is going to be cheaper & cheaper......8x is coming in & then 16x & thats it. Can't get higher than that.
