Has anyone gotten a load of that new console coming out?

it's called the DISCover, it is a console that plays computer games, just take a PC game and put it in!

it will also play DVDs, CDs, MP3s, and more. The unit supports S-video out (great for image quality...better than compsite at least!) Keyboards, USP controllers, a mouse, and connects online via Ethernet.

It runs on a 1.4Ghz prcessor with Nforce graphics.

This thing is supposed to be able to play ANY windows XP game. The console OS also handles all pathches, DirectX, and other downloading inconveniences associated with PC gaming. you cannot install windows OS on it, but who cares? IT"S A CONSOLE THAT PLAYS COMPUTER GAMES!!!

what do you all think about this thing?

do you think it will be a hit? or that it will flop sending the company that makes it into the ground, a total crash and burn?

it is slated to cost around $400.00 when it first comes out.

what are your thoughts? video quality, sound, conectivity, usefullness, who will buy these? all that? any thoughts?

well i am discussing a new console, one without an area on this board. who are you to say this is the wrong forum? this thing is basically a computer with a single purpose!

I think this is a great device, i hate games screwing up on my computer sometimes! although i am computer literate, an inconvenience for me is a major disaster to the ignorant.

it would be great if your computer just did all the stuff you needed done for a game for you. updates, direct X additions, patches, and all that needed stuff.

i personally will buy this consol when it reaches the 200.00 mark. until then i will just have to wait and see.

IF they added somthing like a HDD, DVDRW, and net access for online gaming it would be good

but as it stands pointless IMO (like Insomniac posts), i could buy a decent video card with TV out, wireless keyboard ect... and do all of that for far less

and how could you upgrade it???????

Sounds like an overpriced 1.4ghz computer with a new name. I don't see how 1.4ghz can play ANY pc game.

My only reason for my original reply is understandable to anyone who has read gregoriev's meaningless posts strewn about everywhere with little regard for the correct forum.

That idea probably would have ok about 7 or 8 years ago. But I cant even see the point of it, it is a overpriced pc.
