Hey guys I'm about to install a load of up to date apps on my bro's xbox- and he specifically asked for emulators from back when we were kids e.g. snes, genesis, etc.

The apps and dash i'm sorted with but i'm a little lost with the emulators as the only 1 i play is surreal 64.

In your opinions guys what are the best emus for the following old consoles?
Genesis, GBA, Snes, NES, Master System/Game gear

I found this list when trawling through the old topics but that was dated mid june of last year- just wondering if the same emus (if not the same versions still hold true- p.s. thanks to sharpshooter for this list)

SNES - xSnes9x v.1.04
NES - Nester-X v.0.23
GBA - Unofficial - Visual Boy Advance X 0.21
Sega - DGen XBox v.4
GBC - GNUboy XboX v.4

The latest versions that are available are.......

SNES - xSnes9x v1.42
NES - Nester-X v0.23
GBA - Unofficial - Visual Boy Advance X v0.9
Sega - DGen XBox v.4 - Use Neogenesis v.15 THE best one :)
Sega Gamegear - SMSplus v7
GBC - GNUboy XboX v4
N64 - Surreal v1.0

I use all of these, and all play virtually perfect, apart from Surreal which is buggy.

Also dont forget these......
Kawax - Neogeo emu
MameOx - The Daddy !!

Cheers

thanks alot dark force i got something called xboyadvance v9, and in the text file accompanying it it says:

- Merged in VisualBoy Advance 1.7 sources

is xboyadvance and unofficial visual boy advance the same thing? cos i have a emu titled "U-VBAx_v0.21" as well.

I thought Kawa-x could handle mame roms as well?

Not sure about the Visual boy thing m8, I just use the xboyadvance and its near perfect :)

As for Kawax, it can handle the bigger roms that Mame cant, along with the CPS1 and CPS2 games, and if you can find it the "banned" roms also. All other Mame roms obviously need Mame :)
