Is it possible to either copy or dowload a film(eg) then burn onto disk using a CD re-writer that states its also a DVD rom? Or does that just mean it will play DVD's?

It would be posible to record a VCD or SVCD with you writer but not a DVD. It will read DVDs but not write them. Check out the tutorials and guides forum.

That and most D/Ls would have to be converted to a DVD Compliant format before burning. I hope you didn't get that idea from those scams claiming to be able to burn DVDs with a CD Writer.

Thanks for your help both of you. Not bothered about not being able to copy DVD's, just thought I'd ask incase it had this feature then I'd make use of it!
