Hope this question is ok to ask.

I have d/l surreal n64 emu for x box.

I have un packed it and burned it out as a dvd udf project in nero 6 and checked the force x box compatability box.

I do all my x box discs this way and have never had a problem before.

When i put this disc into the xbox it goes from the dash to the xbox screen as if it is about to load themn just freeze there.

I am using ritek media standard x box dash is in use box is mod chipped.

Any ideas as i would love to see this running.

did you make into an xiso before burning it?

no i did'nt m8.

Any suggestions on how to do that ?

use prassi primo dvd or stomp recordnow max & burn it using cal G's method HERE (http://www.cdrom-guide.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&postid=829853#post829853)

Dont forget to edit the surreal & ultra ini files, to point to where the roms are going to be ie

Rompath = D/Roms/ - if running from disk
Rompath = F/Emulators/Surreal64/Roms/ (or wherever you installed it to) - if installed on hard drive

You can always search the board for 'surreal' I always find topics that way.

what tools do you need for making an xiso ?

Where do you place the ROMS? I don't see a folder for the at all.:confused:

this is what i done to get a dvdr that contained surreal and roms

1/ downloaded surreal, extracted to folder i created called surreal :))
2/ opened the surreal ini file and changed the roms to d\roms
3/ put the n64 roms into the roms folder inside surreal folder
4/ opened the program called isomaker 1.1
5/ directed it to the folder called surreal
6/ selected the name and output folder for my iso (wherever you want it to be created)
7/ it created the iso, and then i burnt it with nero.

all pretty simple really. hope this is of some help to you

you make your own rom folder in the surreal directory and add your roms to that

yea you dont need to make an xiso. just use recordnowmax and make a data disc. load the surreal files along with the roms folder with the roms inside and burn.

I have a similar prob, my surreal works on 1 xbox upstairs, but not on the other downstairs, on 1 disk on a ritek strange eh !!!:confused:

& this is the oldschool version

patch the default.xbe

I'm not being thick here as all my other emus for xbox i have done myself and they all work fine.

Use craxtion to make the xiso and it will patch the files for you, hope this clears it up. It wouldn't work for me unless I patched it eventhough I have x2 4979 bios.HTH

is this on the xbox hard or on the game ???

Ok pepsik,

I used craxtion it patched my files and created an .iso
I burnt this out in alcohol 120% and still the thing wo'nt work.
The craxtion menu starts but when i select to run it it hangs at the xbox boot screen ?????????????????????????

right guys, this is exactly what i did from start to finish
1.Download Surreal
2.Unpack using winrar to a folder called surreal
3.Create a folder in the surreal folder called Roms
4.Copied the n64 roms into the newly created roms folder.
5.Edited the surreal ini & ultra ini so that rompath was D:\Roms\
6.Burnt to disk using RecordNowMax following CalG's method

Also if you have tried a non working copy of surreal, you MUST go into the MSdash & delete any surreal saves on the xbox hard drive!!!

Or and alternative to #6:

Use SimpleXiso to make an iso of the files, then burn with nero.

@MaDasHell - Cheers for that m8, just put the best games on a cd with Surreal using your method and it works perfectly :D

Ok guys,

I have patched the xbe files i have edited the .ini files i have burned as word perfect as cal-g method and still i get the same

Insert dvd into x box disc spins x box logo then pops up and hey presto nothing happens just the x box logo.

Is it me being thick here or what. It says just run the default.xbe but how do you do that if the dashboard stays at the xbox logo.

The box is running the origonal dash no evo or anything like just chipped with origonal dash. It is driving me maD.

Of course if a zipped version of surreal for xbox was to appear at mail box
